Local information

There are many beautiful beaches to choose from including Limionas on the north side of the island which has a very pretty little harbour with a taverna set back from the beach.  Paradise or Bubble Beach, a long stretch of golden sand which is very popular with visitors.  St Stephen's Beach, in front of T42, is probably one of the best beaches on Kos. From here you can swim over to the Island of Kastri to visit the church of St Nicholas.  Along the beach there are the ruins of an early Christian Church with lovely mosaic flooring.  There is also the harbour at the other end of Kamari Bay, where you can sit and watch the fishing boats come and go.

There is a wide selection of accommodation available locally, from hotels to self-catering apartments, with prices to suit all budgets.

There are several water sports facilities in Kefalos, well known for its wind surfing and kite surfing.  Also jet skis are available for hire.

There are several car hire outlets in Kefalos to choose from and they can provide cars, jeeps, quads and bikes.   There is a local bus service to and from Kos Town - although somewhat limited it is well worth the experience!

Pop into T42 for free information on the islands facilities and attractions.  Find out what places are worth a visit such as the Thyme Honey Factory, the forest of Plaka and other local attractions.
